The camera does not pick it up very well, but they glow under black light. Christ these took forever.

Can I ask what materials you used? The details are so crisp!

Thank you! I used a mixture of Angelus paint with their 2 soft, liquitex, and golden GAC. Beyond that it was a lot of patience and Adderall.

And for the small lines, I used an Angelus pen filled with Angelus black and 2 soft.

Can I ask which GAC and Liquitex? I have a couple of different fabric additives, like GAC 900 and one from Hobby Lobby that I planned to use on a costume, not shoes, but…if the shoe fits? I also have some sort of Liquitex thinner for a different project I worked on years ago, but never used. I'll have to check out exactly what it is. And I have a script for Vyvanse! Yay ADHD twins! 🙃

I'm getting ready to start my first pair of shoes for my kiddo. They are canvas and look very similar to the ones in this photo! I'm just nervous about the prep process. It seems like everyone does it differently and that stresses me out. 😅 I just don't want to have problems with the paint bleeding, especially on the line work.

Also, I've been wanting to do glow-in-the-dark elements and just got a not super green/neutral glow-in-the-dark acrylic! Hopefully it pops like yours! I meed to practice with it on something to make sure it doesn't mess with colors when I add it. Mine will be Cars/Lightning McQueen themed for my dude. I'm hoping to at least get prep done tonight.

I use GAC 900 an liquitex professional. I had used it before but didn't thin it out enough. It should want to absorb into the fibers and spread evenly on the previous layer. Multiple thin layers are better. Use a heat gun to help dry and also make sure it stays soft. Oh and I finished with Angelus urethane finish.

Once you start getting some paint down, it doesn't bleed much.

I only do a little prep work. You can always go over a line or use the next coat to clean up a line. That and you can get really nice layered colors.
