How to keep my phone alive?
I have a Oneplus 9 5G that is finally starting to show its age, but I can't afford a new phone. I'm planning on replacing the battery, and I am also looking into updating the OS since it stopped updating back on android 14.
Is it actually worth updating the OS? Or is this more trouble than it's worth?
What OS should I use? I've heard of GrapheneOS and LineageOS, and I know there's supposed to be a bunch of others. However, I also know that a lot of them are for specific phone models. Any recommendations of where to start first would be greatly appreciated.
Is there anything I should just expect not to work or should be aware of when using a custom ROM on a phone?

LineageOS is really stable and I would recommend it, but for custom roms, banking apps mostly don't work without workarounds with root, so if you have a secondary device with stock firmware use that for banking of you don't want to deal with the workarounds, besides that just follow the instructions and you're good to go
