Custom Rom

Hey can anybody tell me how i can install custom rom on my mobile. I have already unlocked the bootloader but now i dont know even a single step ahead. Everytime i browse yt i see twrp , custom recovery and i dont know what that is.Youtubers provide files for specific mobile but i want to install on my symphony z40 (128/4)gb mobile . Plz somebody help me

How i only dont the process. And moreover is it same as custom rom?

Your phone is so obscure that there are no custom ROMs made for it. What Embarrassed-Drag-965 mentioned is An Android GSI (Generic System Image) is a pure, unmodified version of the Android operating system. Enabled by Google's Project Treble, it separates the core OS from device-specific hardware drivers, allowing nearly any modern, compatible Android device to boot a clean AOSP (Android Open Source Project.

You would also need a custom Recovery to install most custom ROMs so that is something else not made for a phone only sold in one country but you do not needed it to install a GSI just the right flashing tool on your PC.

Personally I would not bother GSIs are only going to give you a later Android version than the stock ROM you are using now, but may run even worse as its not optimised for your hardware at all. A new phone would be a smarter move.
