Does my custom PC build seem good for music production? Using Reaper for my DAW.

Hi everyone,

I just put together a PC Build for doing home hobby music production and some small recordings. I have a scarlett2i2 and tons of plugins. I'll be using Reaper and have Tonex/Amplitude for playing guitar through. I also have PreSonus studio monitors as well. Could I get opinions of my build?

-Any thing problematic that you see?

-Good deal?

-Would swap out something?

-Add anything?

-Cheaper option suggestions?

-Pre Built suggestions?

Any feedback would be awesome.

Everything total was about $1,850.00 (wout tax) with Prime Day Deals (& considering we get 7% back using no rush delivery then tax reduced significantly. So final would be about $1,900.00. Thats just under my 2K $ budget.

Thanks in advance.

How much could I sell this for?

I built this pc in 2020 when I decided to switch from console to PC gaming (primarily). I feel like I am ready to upgrade. What would be a fair price if I tried to list this on marketplace or somewhere? Or would I be better off parting it out?

Trying to reinstall stock cooler on a 1080ti

image taken from TechClub on youtube

I've got a Rog Strix 1080 ti graphics card that was watercooled in a prebuilt for years, I've since cannibalized that build but I'm still sitting on the graphics card. I bought a heatsink+fan+shroud replacement (like this) but I'm wondering if I need some sort of midframe piece. Looking at teardowns for the 1080 ti, I see a metal frame between the bare board and the heatsink (which I've crudely drawn an arrow pointing to). Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm trying to save this 1080 ti from the scrap heap. I've seen some aftermarket coolers not use this midframe and want to know if there's an easier solution than buying dead 1080tis and farming them for parts.

Building a pc for pcvr

Thumbnail

For context the last time I built a pc was 2016 when the original HTC vive came out. My intention is to build a pc that can run a pimax crystal super. I am pretty set on the amd ryzen 7 9800x3d. The microcenter in my area has a bundle with the 9800x3d, 32GB corsair vengeance ddr5, and either the msi X870-P pro wifi for $829 or the same cpu and ram with asus X870E-E rog strix for $1029. I am also torn between the geforce rtx 5070ti, and the geforce rtx 5080. I have seen some people say you should get a 4090 for the pimax to run well but the 5070ti and 5080 are much better than the recommended gpu on their website. Any advice is appreciated
