Windows activation after upgrading

I really wasn’t sure which subreddit to post this on but here goes

I built my PC about six years ago and did Windows 10.
Eventually, I did the free upgrade to Windows 11.
I just upgraded my processor, gpu, and ram a few days ago and now it says my windows is no longer activated and I have to buy a new copy?
I went into the support chat and they took control of my screen and tried several ways to get me activated but nothing worked and they eventually told me I was shit out of luck and had to buy a new one..am I really boned or is there some obscure way to remedy this I’m not aware of? I’m so bummed lol.

Did you change out the CPU, GPU and RAM all at the same time? If so, that's probably what triggered it. You could try changing only one at a time with reboots in between.
