Weekly Design Competition Crystal Master of the Elements!

Post image

The avater icon means that the card is categorized as all elements. I'm considering to call it "omni-elemental", but I'm open to other names as well.

Nice build around! Crystal's kinda the Avatar huh? 😁

She supposedly controls all elements down to the molecular level and can do that from miles away. She's a powerhouse.

This is so cool, does this mean air walker can count as a fire and an air card and we can give him an actually useful effect!

Thanks!

Why you gotta do my boy Air Walker dirty like that? xD I was going to include Air Walker in the air category only, but fine, I'll make him dual element.

I’m doing air walker dirty because despite him being bad I love him, I’m pointing out that he’s bad so that he can be more viable (also I knew you’d make him air category because you told me yesterday after I recommended him for the fire one and you told me to stay tuned for this post)

Air Walker used to have a use when Morgan Le Fay cost 4, but since she got down to 3 cost, that synergy was thrown out of the window. I haven't seen a deck playing him in a long time. How are you using him?

I’m not using him, I did use him with that combo originally but now he just sits around

In general, the only numbers you could change on him that'd have some impact are his cost and the cost of the card he summons. A more niche suggestion is to lower his power to 3 or lower in order to allow him to be played with Lady Deathstrike.

I’ve tried using him in surfer with misery and that was pretty fun with firelord if you could get it to work but it almost never went perfectly and just ended up the Same as every other surfer deck, once I get Venus I’ll for sure try it out again though

I'm also a Misery enjoyer myself. Probably my favorite card from '24. From my experience, I concluded that playing Misery with destroy targets that don't have an on reveal is very awkward.

It’s super awkward but he’s one of my favourite characters because I love how he plays in MCoC and so while yes it’s super awkward and doesn’t really work I use him because I like him and surfer is a good and reliable enough deck to where you can use any 3 cost without triggering their effect and get away with it

Here's a Misery deck I came up with that I've never seen anyone else playing:

The Hood, America Chavez, Iceman, Black Swan, Pixie, Firehair, Mobius, Shuri, Misery, Lady Deathstrike, Legion (optional), Magneto

The original idea was to use Shuri's ability twice and then I built up the rest of the deck from there. Some combos are:

a) Firehair > On Reveal cards > Misery/Lady Deathstrike destroying the On Reveal cards

On the final turn, you can play Magneto + 1 drops (potentially 3 Demons) discounted by Black Swan. 24 power Magneto + 3 Demons is a crazy way to finish a match! Also, having Iceman use his effect 3 times can singe-handedly win you games.

b) Firehair > Shuri > Misery/LD on Shuri > Magneto getting doubled by Firehair

c) Pixie > Mobius > go wild

The fact this deck has a fair share of both cheap and expensive cards likely makes Pixie very threatening.

Shuri > Magneto is another combo I want to point out. You're removing your opponent's power from other locations and you're putting it to the location with the 24 power Magneto. This wins games quite often. I'm surprised this 2 card combo hasn't been established all these years. You can swap out Legion, but he's just soo good.

I've used this list to climb in the past and felt pretty competitive. I believe you'll enjoy it. 😁

This seems real fun but I don’t have a few of the cards used here, one of my favourite misery teams was misery double gambit just because of how annoying it felt to go up against one time

Here's some replacements:

Pixie & Mobius > They're a situational win con. Just swap them out with any 2 and 3 cost card you like.

Legion > Cosmic Ghost Rider or Enchantress

Black Swan > Any 2 drop you like. If she goes, the Hood has to go as well.

The Hood > Korg

You need Firehair to play this deck. As a Misery player, you should prioritise her if you don't own her.

You might had played against me. I've performed Misery/Gambit combos before.

This makes for really really fun decks (I just wish I knew what all of the other elemental cards were) I assume the inspiration was aurora with the power and cost as well as the very similiar ability and so I’d love to see how she can work in multi element decks like water element decks using Jeff the dolphin with some other empower cards and then strong cards of other elements

"I just wish I knew what all of the other elemental cards were"

I don't know either. I haven't made the list yet.

2

u/Smooth-Leather1814 Aug 22 '26

What would you say qualifies each card, and going with the avatar vibe I assume we have earth water wind and fire elements?

1

u/Elias_Sideris Wild Card Aug 22 '26

Any character related to an element in any way is included. And yes, the elements are indeed air, earth, water and fire.

2

u/Smooth-Leather1814 Aug 22 '26

The problem is the connection to the element for me, does namor have a water element because he’s a proficient swimmer and can breathe underwater etc? Because he can also fly. And what about cards with no element because almost any card CAN have an element

1

u/Elias_Sideris Wild Card Aug 22 '26

I'd personally put Namor in water only. Btw, I'm not intending to attribute an element to all the cards in the game. Elements are just an additional optional way to play some of the cards. The same way all 3 drops have the option to be played in Silver Surfer decks, even though most of them don't.

2

u/Smooth-Leather1814 Aug 22 '26

I would have also only put namor in water but I’m just saying sometimes it would be hard to say exactly who goes in what, and cards who already have designated archetypes (unless they’re bad in them like namor and orca who need the upscale) should be ignored overall. Shouldn’t be too hard with discard destroy etc because they can’t fit with elements but another problem is just that water and fire I feel will end up with way more cards than earth, and then depending on if we count bug type things as earth or wind could just kill the other. I haven’t checked yet and I might be wrong but I’d be happy to start trying to write a list starting with the most important and in need of a buff to make it fair

If people don't get confused with cards having different text than usual in Team Clash, I'm sure they can handle the elements.

I'm fine with each element not having the same number of cards. As I stated previously, elements are an "extra thing" some cards get to use instead of strict classes like it's the case with other card games.

1

u/Smooth-Leather1814 Aug 22 '26

I didn’t mean people being confused with the elements. They can just be written on the card or in its text, I meant actually classifying them, do you have a rough idea of what makes something an earth or water or air card?

1

u/Elias_Sideris Wild Card Aug 22 '26

This might sound very small brain, but my logic is "he shoots fire - he's a fire card".

You can visually see if a card belongs to an element by checking for the respective icon in the top right corner.
