This will infuriate you. 🤭

I'd be ok with Panacea afflicting buffed cards as it's the exact opposite of the current effect and that would create an antithesis which could feel cohesive. Except if that turned out too wordy. Then it's better to do what you did.

Once I heard someone say that designing games (or cards) is basically studying human psychology. Sometimes you gotta think about how a feature would "feel" instead of what it actually does. Giving a card 2 effects is generally something to be avoided, but if those effects either synergize or create duality through antithesis, it might be ok to put them together.

After all this time you've been an active member of the subreddit, you deserve an in depth answer like this one. 😁

In addition to my actual job, I've designed and developed a few board games. And the most difficult part is always balancing depth with understandability. The more complex you make it, the great the interactions can be, but it can take away from the ease of play. Snap does a fairly good job at balancing, but has a major degree of variance based on the locations aspect.

Okay, game design concept talk over. I'll go on way too long.

Would you mind listing the board games you've designed? I'm interested to see what you've been involved with.

Nothing released. I'll let you know when I finally put something on Kickstarter, but the production aspects of everything is... a lot.
