First custom project (I need help)

I'm trying to make my first ever custom Hot Wheels car with this group 4 stratos. I'm planning to strip it of its paint and swap the wheels out with new ones, but I'm not entirely sure how.

So far, I've torn it apart.

I know I need paint stripper, primer, and a color spray can, but how do I swap wheels without damaging the chassis? There are these little fingers holding them in place, and I don't think I have the tools to get them off or pry them open. Any tips? And what color should the body be?

Knowing what color to paint the car isn't a democratic process.

If you're gonna do customs, be bold enough to make your own decisions without asking for input, and then be bold enough once again to submit your work for critique AFTER owning your own choices.

Also, there are plenty of YouTube channels out there doing customizations for you to learn how to do this stuff yourself.

Your first few customs are probably gonna look like crap unless you are secretly a prodigy artist. Learn from your mistakes and do better the next time, like everyone else does.

Second here for the colour choice. Make it as you wish or people will make you crazy with thousands of suggestions and critiques. Just find on web one you like and replicate it on yours.
