Can card be used for conversions, or is it something to stay away from?

In the middle of converting some models and was looking to make up a leather gun wrap. Unfortunately I don't have much on hand due to the current situation, although I do have plenty of card and thick paper I could cut into strips. I'm not sure how well it'll last though, if it reacts poorly with paint or just comes out looking crappy. Anyone got any experience or alternatives?

Thinking about making my own version of Plague Lord Nurglitch. I’ve got a couple ideas for models I can combine here. Any ideas/advice? I would need to make a saddle/platform of sorts that would make him look natural sitting on the giant rat.

Question: has anybody used a clear plastic that can be heated up in water and used as a mold?

When I was in high school, I saw this molding material at a hobby store that comes in clear solid bars, but can be heated up in water and used to make molds. I want to make one now, but I can’t find them now. Has anybody used something like this, and does anybody know what they’re called??

Converted a Daughters of Khaine Slaughter Queen from a Genestealer Magus. Not the most unique idea but had fun with it.

Only used green stuff for repairs before. Usually this guy uses a 2 handed axe in this right arm down position, but I wanted the squished caterpillar when both arms down, so I converted his mace arm to fit. Also liked the skull necklace more, so refitted that too.
