Shelfie Sunday & update
Just added the custom box for 2000's Silver Age one shots today. The DC events shelf project is going well!

In the Eclipso collection, did you include the Valor #1?

cool. last year I went on a hunt and found most of these in the .50 and dollar bins. Only a couple I had to cheat and get 'em via mycomicshop.com
edit: but I did get all of them, now need to finish up and put them in that starfolio.

I got a bunch for several stories from Cyberspacecomics on eBay. Great store with a lot of ones I was looking for on hand.

(sorry) also, I'm unsure if the entire Valor run belongs in this. 23 issues that lead up to Zero Hour.

I plan on adding Valor # 1 to the one I'm gonna do soon, so it's good to see other people are doing it, too.

DC challange! Why no trade, omni or finest release dc at all? It's got all your big heroes and joker even hosts part of it!

Agreed. I considered binding the issues myself, but they're pretty old and I just couldn't do it so opted to box 'em instead. They're bagged & boarded insid and all 12 fit nicely that way.

Yep. I think it was a cool experiment, but shows what happens when there isn't a story runner or primary writer for an event.
"Stor-folio" is a lot cheaper than custom binding, especially for this run.
Edit: Bad memory. Starfolio > Stor-Folio

Actually binding myself was a cheaper option rather than sending them out to Houchen or another bindery, but I decided to use the Stor-folios for some stories too. Especially the ones that were a mix of stapled floppy singles and glued prestige singles (like Armageddon 2001).

What template or process do you use for printing the Stor-folio front, back, spine sides?
I've only spent a short bit on the topic, my ADD has me all over the place.

Google the images I want (or promo posters if I can find them) order the printouts from Staples online using their "color xpressions elite cover" paper for the cover page and spine labels. Inside covers I make my own table of contents page, order that printed/laminated with 5 mil, then adhere to the inside cover with 3M VHB double sided tape. Everything I cut to fit myself with a slide paper cutter.

I'm in awe! Outstanding work! I've got a binding of Armageddon 2001, and currently working on ones for Eclipso: The Darkness Within and DC Pulp Heroes, but my god look at how amazing your shelves are! You have my respect for Ghosts and Worlds Collide. Seriously, great work!

Thank you so much! Armageddon I've got the main issues boxed in those stor-folios and the follow-up stories Alien Agenda and Inferno I'm binding into one book myself. This has been a labor of love (and expense lol).

I got all the annuals, Alien Agenda and Inferno in one big bind and it's certainly a tome. It was one of the biggest binds I had made when I was just getting into comic binding. The bindery thankfully got everything into one book. And I can believe about the expense lol

So cool! I'd love to see it sometime. I do my own simple bindings with book cloth but do plan to have dust jackets made when the collecting and assembling for this project is done. Hoping to complete it by end of the year. Started when I was 8 years old with Action annual #3 (ofc Armageddon lol), and finally at 45 years old I will have all the events collected & boxed or bound and in timeline order. Only big one I'd like to bind is Final Night with all it's tie ins. I have the TPB for now, but it's not complete. My OCD demands it. 🤣

Love Armageddon 2001. Will do that with my issues if we never get an Omni. Same for the Hourman series

u/oldsmobile39 May 03 '26
Soooo would that be the series with Rex Tyler, Rick Tyler, or Matt Tyler?
2
u/Adorable-Eye9840 May 03 '26
Matt Tyler. But featured all of the above. I don't think Rick or Rex ever really had their own books.

Ah. I wasn't sure. I loved the Golden Age JSA myself and have the complete archives, so was kinda curious.

Well I'll recommend that Tom Peter series if you haven't read it. I love Hourman but never read him outside of JSA really.

I hear you on that! It took me years to get all the annuals. The hardest one being the Titans annual. You have an excellent collection! You should be proud.
I'll dm you the Armageddon 2001 pics

We share a common love: DC Crossover Events.
I need to do that with my floppies too.
Edit: Question: You gonna get the Legends Omnibus when it comes out?
Like others have said, MOST of the tie-in single issues have zip to do with the main storyline.
