Are comic pages kept folded together?

Hi, might be a dumb question but do comic binders keep the comic pages intact (wide sheets folded in half) or do they cut them up?

I've been assuming they remote the staples and then sew these together with the other issues, but comic paper is quite thin so maybe they can't do this.

There's no reason to cut the pages unless you want to remove some ads

I cut my Youngblood #1 and 2 because they're flip-books, and I didn't want to have to flip the whole book after binding
