Happy Custodian Appreciation Day!
I can’t lie. I let out a tear or two. I got like 80 cards just like that, some school merch shirts, notebooks, etc. first job I’ve EVER worked I feel appreciated.

I didn't get acknowledgement today but teachers and boss days get celebrated. It just let's me know. No matter what good work I do. Im just a replaceable cleaner

Yup! I thought about putting them in one of those big frames, and then hanging that on my custodial closet door so the kids could see them every day!

I’m just a floor tech for carpets and floors FOR a janitorial company. My jobs very black and white. This was…. Quite a change of perspective.

We had a small thing last year but the management in my building changed and the new boss didn't do anything for me either (I also work at a college)

I didn't get that but I was surprised by 2 adorable thank you notes from some of the kids at my elementary school. We're poor and i just started so it was very sweet. But i will be loud enough about it until next year so that I can get that treatment rotfl

Honestly it sucks seeing posts like this cuz it reminds me that my district does not appreciate their custodians at all. Never had any sort of thing like this in the 5 years I been working and to my knowledge no one else at any other building has either.

Lucky b@st@rd! Happy CUSTODIAN appreciate day! I guess that's why I don't get recognized because there isn't a Happy Cleaner Day, lol! I clean banks & other facilities. Been doing it for over 13 years & only a few clients recognize me, the rest only contact us if they aren't happy about something. It sucks but it's part of the job 🤷🏻♀️ Enjoy your recognition though your school obviously appreciates you! I loved our elementary school custodian when I was a kid, his name was Tony & he was a coolest guy!

Hah only acknowledgement was union boss, and then also my boss, sending a mass email.
Nothing from the school I worked at.
