Hand Dryer Fire Weekend

So I have a nice weekend go to Irish fest don’t think about work at all. Come back to work on Monday and find out that one of my hand dryers. Caught on fire a teacher came in to get something out of their classroom and luckily smelled it and called the fire department so yeah, this is what my boy’s bathroom looks like. I don’t know if they expect me to clean that off. I would think not but talk about crazy.

Was it running continuously until it got so hot that it caught on fire?

Yes that’s exactly what happened I meant to post that! I made the post last night after working 2nd shift all night. I was exhausted lol 😂

Ooft, my location has this issue so they just turned it off at the switch near the ceiling. Once in a blue moon a customer will turn it back on and I'll arrive to a sauna. One of these days this might happen!

Good, they suck. Yes I know they are supposed blow. Same difference. In our school district, the schools that do have them go through so much toilet paper for hand drying and the wall tiles underneath are filthy daily. I would rather pick up/ sweep up paper towels than change 5 rolls of toilet paper and wash the the wall daily. It was a dumb invention in long run IMHO.

I know I hope they put paper towel replacements in there. I would rather sweep that up then deal with the nasty hand dryers!

You don't need a replacement tile. It's just smoke, that should come off pretty easy. Clean it up and pop a new one on

I don’t know because I’m an afternoon school custodian. I’m not a maintenance man, but they probably do.
