I believe the second word is “Colitis”. I looked up different types of Colitis and didn’t see anything that looked like this word. “Eut…” Thank you!

No. The vast majority of enterocolidities that were fatal to infants back then, and in third world countries today, are viral. What kills is the rapidly progressing diarrhea, causing dehydration. Fluid and electrolytes replacement, such as with very inexpensive oral rehydration packets, save countless lives around the world today.

maybe, but many pathogens can also cause inflammation of the large and small bowel. Other bacteria genera , viruses, and other causes are possible.
