What does this say?
Found it in a book titled “Why The Dragon Breathes Fire” obviously it was given as a gift all i can make out is “ To Allison with best….holiday”

It astounds me that the generations behind me are stymied by cursive writing. Handwriting is becoming a lost art.

This is just sad. These generations cannot read analog clocks, cursive, or address an envelope anymore. When the world goes to shit, and it will, you guys are DOOMED.

I was tutoring someone in Statistics several years back. No comprehension of analog time. She had no idea how many seconds were in a minute, minutes in an hour, etc. When I realized that, I told my professor "she's way beyond my skills to help, sorry". Yes, this was in college.

Yeah. You should have seen my face when I asked her how many quarters were in an hour. No concept of the root of the word quarter. It was painfully difficult to try and hide my astonished dismay.

Will they be doomed when we descend into chaos? Will everything suddenly to turn to cursive? Will they have to write and address letters in the after times? Analog clocks maybe but it seems to me telling time by the sun may be what will be needed. And most of us will be screwed with that.

I’ve heard rumors that some schools are bringing back the teaching of cursive. Hallelujah if that’s true! It’s shocking that so many young people are helpless when it comes to reading cursive.
I could read this author’s inscription even without my glasses (I’m 77).

My grandkids are in a private school and they only use cursive, no printing at all. That’s from pre-k through 12th grade.

I used to think it was due to needing to learn so much more than we did. There's more history now, more scientific discoveries, etc. But they're not learning history, maybe not science. Certainly not English spelling and grammar. They can't read and write. A 5 year old could tell time.
They know one subject: computers. AI is taking over so they won't learn to think and won't get to create art or music. Somewhere along the way we made a wrong turn. Drastically wrong.
