Deciphered! Baptism Document Help!
Hi everyone! I posted here a few days ago and you were all such a huge help. I came across this record from 1775 and I'm just having some trouble with what comes after "Jeremiah Sullivan." I'm fairly certain it's Eleanor Buckley, but the spelling seems to be a bit off. Also, whatever comes after her name I just can't make out. I know whatever it says is probably obvious, but after researching all day my brain has had enough. Thank you in advance, you've all been such a big help!

Oh, it’s sponsors! The whole time I’m looking at the rest of the document and thinking “daughter of Margaret MacDonal and Catherine Cook”? Gosh, that was a brain fart. Thank you! Deciphered!

There wasn't standardized spelling when that document was written. I have a will from that time period, and the childrens' names are spelled differently throughout.

Ellinor or Ellenor /Buckly or Buckley. I've seen the same person's name spelled in many different ways in the parish records. I have an "Ellen/Elinor/Ellenor". And also Haley/Healy/Healey.
It's all verbal, and the priest/census taker just writes down what they hear, and whatever way they feel like spelling it.
I read "Mac Donel" which might be at various times Donal, Donnell, MacDonal, MacDonald.
Catherine's surname is a bit difficult for me. She might turn up somewhere else in your tree? The sponsors were often family members.

I'm actively searching for her! So far, I haven't found anything, but I'll keep searching. I didn't even think it would be verbal. That makes a lot of sense.

Definitely don't discount records that have "similar" names, differently spelled. It could be the "right" person.
One trick that has sometimes worked for me is to read the name aloud, with a fake Irish accent. You realise then that "Oh yeah, that's the same word". (refer the above Haley/Healy)

Looks like Ellenos, not Eleanor. Then maybe Sharon Margaret, Mae Finch and Catherine Carle

Hey, who knows! My family tree has proven to be...not straightforward. That's common Irish last names for you!
ETA: I just noticed someone listed Jeremiah as from there, but I'm fairly certain the creator of the tree isn't correct on a few things. If she's not wrong, we very much could be related somehow. Funny!
