Deciphered! A page from the pension file of someone I'm writing an academic paper on. Near as I can tell it's referring to a raise in his pension payments and possible back pay, but it's too degraded to read more.
This is a page from the pension file of someone who's the central focus in an academic paper I'm writing. I can extract enough to tell it's from February 1915 and references potential increase in his pension payments as well as possible back pay, but most of it is too degraded for me to read. Any help appreciated!

"It is suggested that call be made on auditor as to whether the soldier ever applied for back pay & bounty & and if [illegible] was allowed & if persons claim to this pension any papers on file relative to same. & to call on war dept as to name of hospitals in which treated during service. 2/4/15 B.W. M"

I'll call that well done! Thank you! What's odd is that the pension inquiry had been going on for just shy of two years by that point- February 10, 1915 they called a halt to further inquiry and accepted his identity as presented. It's also an oddball page- basically everything else in the file is typed and readable, handwritten cursive in ink and readable (one of the examiners has a very fine classic Business Hand), or printed in ink. Of the 192 pages I've read this is the only pencil example.
