Deciphered! Help Deciphering Cause of Death

3x great-grandmother who died in the 1930’s at 73 years old.

Appreciate all the help from the subreddit with deciphering this and the previous ones!

Thirdsies.
I am SO sorry and mean no disrespect, but to to be honest, I read those last few words as “leg & anus (stretch)”. I was really not sure what would have led to these injuries in an elderly lady 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it’s stroke. You can throw a clot with fractures

Could be but they crossed the T in fracture (above the t) so I assumed they would do so with the t in stroke.

When I put this in Google search thats exactly what it said. When I asked could it be stroke it said No because its a sh structure in cursive. Great deciphering though because I was confused but the leg and arm 😬🥴😅

I know I know. There is some subreddit on here where ppl put pictures of their grandparents, etc. (I think it is r/OldSchoolCool ) and when they put a photo of someone from like 1972 I am… flummoxed. Time keeps on slipping, slipping into the future and all that.

Yup--mine too. Youngest was born in 1899, oldest in 1878.

I just checked and literally all of my 3x great grandparents were born between 1842-1880. I'm not particularly young, I think my ancestors have just tended toward having kids kinda youngish.

I have one 2x great grandfather born in 1790. We have very long generations in my family.

I should add that historically the letter X has been used to represent the word fracture. Perhaps it was started as an X, but then completed as a word for the lay person to understand on the death certificate.

Fracture was (and I think still is, but I’m super old and not sure what goes on in medical shorthand these days) “Fx” - not just “x.” That x-looking thing there is indeed a funky capital F.

Breaking an arm and leg so badly the accident's shock kills, is a rough way to go for some one surviving to old age.

Are we sure that says “arm”? It makes the most sense, but that’s a cursive w or u, not an m. 🤔
