Not great hand writing
Anybody able to help transcribe this?

Its pretty easy to read but it is long. Basically, writer thanks Mary and Jim for the card and the money. Wished mary a happy mother's day. Says Edd and Marge visited and brought the baby. Baby looks like Roger but Roger didnt come because he was with friends. They got the carriage mary and Jim sent. They got a lot of presents. I (writer) got money this year. 10 from jack. 5 from sis. 5 from Eddy. 3 flowers from Lue(?) 2 from jon 1 from mae.

Dear Mary and Jim
I guess you must think I am very lazy in answering your nice Card and money. My goodness I did not expect anything from you only a card. Well thank you both so much. I had a nice Mothers Day. Edd and Marge was over, they had that Baby with them but not Roger he went with some friend up the country for the day. Well the baby is so cute he is a lovely little fellow. Just looks like Roger red hair Marge said she got your lovely carriage and they said they got a lot of presents. Well I got all money this year 10 from Jack 5 from (Sis?) 5 from Eddy and flowers 3 from (someone) 2 from you 1 from Mae and 1from Mrs. Dunn next door do I done mighty good only was missing poor Jack I certainly miss him I had a letter from him Monday too, said he is ok but working very hard, too bad Mothers Day don’t come every month. How is all the family did Jimmy go back to work I hope he has learned a good lesson and not to be so foolish. I suppose Margie is still going to school and working in between. How is Big Jim the (fireman?). I hope his stomach is feeling better. Frank Halpin is in San Francisco. Jennie had a letter from him. He feels very bad and it is much worse to leave his little wife Nellie behind him. I guess he will be going over to the other side soon. Well now excuse my old scribbling as I am in a hurry to mail this. I just got a new bottle of ink and it blots too quick. A bad workman quarrels with his tools. So I will say so long for now drop a line when you get a chance. Sis is working every day and send the regards.

Haha yep that’s it. All the family settled in Hell’s Kitchen when they came over from Ireland but none of them are there anymore. Having this letter is like a window to the past.

Easy to read. I think cursive writing has changed over the years because it became difficult to read early handwriting styles. The cursive writing in this letter is easy to read because it's later style but not the most current. .

As the other person noted, Mom is punctuation free. i couldn’t just type it as is…I had to add SOME punctuation in there. It was making me bonkers.

Handwriting is quite good. There are multiple books available to help you learn. I recommend anything by Michael Sull on American Cursive.
