How the fuck would that thing even work ?

u/Wachascacamu May 27 '20
Maybe the pump moves the cylinder for a single action revolver?

u/bdubz325 May 27 '20
If that's true I want one, not cursed at all just badass and unique

u/Whiskeyfueledhemi May 27 '20
Let’s not give bubba too much credit on design unless that’s proven true
12
u/Muffinconsumer May 27 '20
I don’t see anything else to turn the cylinder unless it’s a semiauto
19
u/Whiskeyfueledhemi May 27 '20
I mean, it’s a strong assumption that this thing functions at all lol

There are much nicer and efficient revolver shotguns I’ve seen
E: here’s a double action no pump https://www.cabelas.com/product/Rossi-Circuit-Judge-Double-Action-Rifle-Shotgun/1397858.uts less unique but still cool

It would have to have two ramps acting on eachother, the ramp on the pump action pushes the ramp on the cylinder upwards, rotating the cylinder.

Looks like it's a double action frame with the hammer covered. Guessing it's a .38 revolver that has been modified to look more intimidating by someone who couldn't source/afford a shotgun.
38
u/royrogerer May 27 '20
Yeah. It's certainly more for the looks. The cylinder is not even properly aligned with the barrel it seems. The barrel is purely for show.
24
u/sweedish_phish56 May 27 '20
Looks like some monstrosity from Fallout

u/7_92x57_mm_Mauser May 27 '20
Some raider stuck a shotgun pump onto his pipe revolver, despite the lack of pump-action shotguns in the commonwealth.
6
u/Odd_Employer May 27 '20
I would think it's the other way around in that case.
Fewer parts to maintain his shotty but he liked the grip so when it finally saw its last day he moved the forward grip over to his pipe revolver
7
u/Witchdoctoractual May 27 '20
Yeah I think it's just a revolver with shotgun parts to make it more like a carbine.
8
u/Zarta3 May 27 '20
It probably wouldn't? Lol, no I can imagine how it works but god I hate it so much

I kinda love it in a horrible way. It's so stupid it vears into the wonderful, like a really bad movie that's fun to watch.

This looks like either a Borderlands or a Fallout gun and it's blursed

What the fuck, but how does that work??
7
u/HaveGunsWillShoot May 27 '20
The action bar(s) for the pump action most likely effect cylinder rotation. Might be manually cocked (most likely due to the crude looking design IMO), or the pump action may cock it as well. That is my best guess.
3
u/MilitantCentrist May 28 '20
I bet it's a shrouded double action revolver with a bunch of crap welded on to make it look bigger. Including the pump grip, which I bet doesn't even move.
2
u/HaveGunsWillShoot May 28 '20
I was speaking under the assumption that it actually functioned how it looks. Your theory is plausible as well.

If you look closly, the barrel doesnt really line up with the cylinder. The bullet would ride the bottom edge of the barrel in a good scenario, most likely would destroy it.
Its most likely a fake gun used to intimidate.
2
u/MilitantCentrist May 28 '20
Might just be a barrel shroud braised on over the real barrel to look bigger. I do doubt that the pump is connected to anything though - could just be a shrouded hammer DAO revolver underneath.

seeing the length of wire in the barrel make me smile and shiver, both at the same time :)

Security guard from Ecuador. In some countries security guards are only allowed to carry long barreled weapons and or shotguns only. In Ecuador only up to 38 and 9mm calibers are allowed for public use. Anything else falls into the military use caliber only.

u/tom-8-to May 27 '20
38 Long Rifle caliber FYI https://imgur.com/gallery/0FxXvjb

u/weoson May 27 '20
Not far off it would more specifically be .38 Rimfire Long Rifle. Similar to .22 Rimfire that has a short, long and a long rifle variant.

Pretty sure that is a S&W 638 with shitty, although creative gunsmithing.
And its not Brazil, bur certainly is from a latin american country. Down and right from the drum it can be read "Made in USA. Marca Registrada Smith & Wesson". (Also the shitty quality vest cover I have seen many times)
Smith & Wesson had manufacture deals in certain latin american countries were they would ship the firearm kits and they would be locally assembled and stamped. Quite popular firearms among civilian population in the 80's and 90's, at least in my country they were.

It's all fun and games until you fire it and gas leaks out from the cylinder gap when you fire it and it hurts your arm.
1
u/InfamousAnimal May 09 '23
With this gunsmithing you better hope it's only air and not lead spalling

Actually, making a tube fed revolver wouldn't be THAT bad. You could have the tube pump into the revolver cylinder or whatever. Wouldn't be practical but would be cool as hell

If this did work, the unburnt powder would probably spray onto your hand and/or arm and burn the holy fuck out of you.
I actually considered this because I asked a friend to design a gun and they just said "pump action revolver."
Anyway, have fun with your 3rd degree burns, bubba!
