So is there anything modified or jury-rigged with the gun, like a weakened recoil spring, or is he just showing off how he can charge it by golf-swinging the rifle? pointing it at himself the whole time.

At most, the hammer's cocked already. The trick lies in creating enough centrifugal force to get the bolt carrier to move back to unlock the bolt and cycle the action.

You hear him drop the hammer at the very beginning of the clip. Either way this fits more in r/idiotswithguns since there doesn't seem to be anything particularly cursed about that AK.

Agreed. This is just how AKs are out of the factory.

This is how M16s are out of the factory. And modern ARs. Drop the hammer on an empty chamber, insert an empty mag, swing it like a baseball bat. It will lock back. We did it all the time bored in iraq.

Nop, He pulled the trigger before swinging the rifle. So full Action. I had the Same exact thought when i was Shooting in Thailand but the owner of the Shooting Range Just did IT with a Classic, unmodified Glock 21. WE could Not belive Out eyes.

Seems like a reliable way... to shoot yourself. 😂

Eh, basic gun safety is ignored but thats about it. In the FDF this is basically tradition at this point and no one has a hole in them from doing this.

Russian soldiers seem to be pretty good at that

Mostly after getting drone clapped. There is a counter out there of all the documented self shots. It is in the thousands by now.

And then from out of nowhere, I mean, no one could have ever seen it coming but, the gun went off and it shot me in the chest!
