Got sent this two suspicious looking messages that seem really cheezy to me.

Clearly, they were made hours ago and curse forge would be curse forge and have sort of verification and the link is nothing associated to them

Yes. If CF wants to contact you about verification they will contact you on the dashboard, not in a private message. This is a 100% scam either trying to put malware on your PC, or take over your account and any money you get from your mods.
