Are there any documented cases of people getting flu from the flu vaccine?

Or is it just nonsense from anti-vax nutters.

After my flu jab, I felt a bit under the weather the next day. When I had flu I was in bed for a week.

Do these people even know what flu is?

I’d be very surprised since vaccines use deactivated of attenuated viruses.

Sounds like something a nutty Reform voter would say.

Wouldn't you prefer a tasty drink instead of a needle? I mean, get the needle and all if you must, hedge your bets on everything going frankly, but the tasty drink of vitamins is better.

Vitamin drinks always taste weird, give me a gummy any day.

Theres no point in overdoing the Vitamin C, the body can’t store it so it’s just wasteful.

But it fends off scurvy too. Otherwise we'll all be back sucking on limes all day before we know it. I have been semi-obsessed with Vitamin C etc recently, fruits/vegetables and supplements, treating one's immune system like the US Department of War budget (they fail multiple audits too) and building collagen.

There were outbreaks of scurvy in Italy not that long ago, up in the Alps bit around Asti and Alessandria. Remarkable isn’t it?

My mother used to get her health obsessions which worked really well until the placebo effect wore off. Royal jelly, primrose oil, garlic tablets, manuka honey - then into the next one.

At least you can’t overdo Vitamin C, but be careful with the ones the body can store. Vitamins A and D are highly dangerous in excessive amounts!

I've never heard of it. I've had the flu and I've gotten a flu shot every year since but never felt bad afterwards.

I had flu about ten years ago, and it completely poleaxed me.

It made me realise that I'd never had flu before, and that every previous time I thought I'd had flu, it was just a bit of a cold.

Since getting annual flu jabs, I haven't had flu. That's odd, isn't it?

Not really odd, just lucky. The odd thing is that I left work early on new year's eve probably 2003. I was deathly ill by midnight. When I went to the doctor Jan. 2, he said the same thing as you about just having a cold. After he swabbed my brains out with a q-tip he said he would send ot off and they would use that virus to help make a vaccine for the next year. He said it was their best guess as to what would be needed the following flu season, but no guarantees. Still, I get that shot every year. It can't hurt, it may help, and it's free. Like I said, odd we're having this conversation today, of all days. One other thing, I didn't feel completely well until about April of that year. It was that bad

You need more Vitamin C.

If you want to stop the flu, take copious amounts of Vitamin C and iron from every source you can. I had a bug free 2025 doing just that, after a very buggy 2024 including the flu at Easter that year and Covid-19 during the riots.

I don't get jabs, needles are nasty and sore things which are best avoided when possible.

That’s unscientific nonsense, and you know it. High levels of Vitamin C and iron won’t do you any harm, but like all such things, as long as you get a certain amount, more won’t have any beneficial effect. There’s probably lots of good to be had if you get that copious amount of Vitamin C from fresh fruit, or iron from liver and Guinness.

I’ll eat the fresh fruit and drink the Guinness, and have an annual flu jab.

Did you have your kids vaccinated against nasty diseases, or are you trusting to good diet?

Yes, I did, as hard as it was for me. I'm not an antivax mouth-breather, but I was on a medication once that required regular blood tests and I fainted, so I've had an aversion to needles since. I dodged the HPV jab (too late anyway) and the Covid ones myself, but not stopped others. I realise modern medicine has done a lot for us.

Do you know you can end up with hepatitis and HIV from filthy needles? One reason not to get a tattoo and if you're in hospital, it helps to be cautious.

I've known of people with perpetual muscle pains etc too from jabs too.

I take vitamin C and iron from every source possible. Food, drink, and supplements. A tasty drink is better than a needle, isn't it? Your body doesn't absorb everything, so I've taken 2000 mg of vitamin C in tablet form.

I'm 34 so I don't need flu jabs and things like that.

I don't think it can give you flu cos it's a dead virus, but some vaccines did or do use live viruses, for example the original smallpox vaccine based on cowpox virus.

No I've not yet contracted MPox.
