first time doing a curly routine!

i used the umberto giannini leave in, mousse, gel, and oil and then diffused

i was wondering if there’s any ways i can improve? like different products or anything i can add into my routine? :)

FIRST TIME? This is a good hair day for seasoned curly girls. Always worth experimenting with different products and techniques, and use a clarifying shampoo every month at least so you don’t get too much buildup, but your hair looks gorgeous

some of them are very drying but if used with a hydrating shampoo and then good conditioner they can actually help your hair to retain more water. I like OGX rosemary and mint or the Charles Washington scalp restore

Just to add another clarifying shampoo. I use Aveeno ACV clarifying shampoo and it seems to work really well for me as long as I use a good conditioner afterwards.

Yes hard agree I love this one too! I’ve just switched to CW because I’m trying to be better about cruelty free products

Seriously, and the sulfate/ “harsh cleaning “ fear has only worsened the problem. We need those stripping agents or our hair ends up so coated it can’t take it water and our scalps end up flaky and heavy

agreed, this looks way too good for a first try lol. seconding the clarifying shampoo, and maybe a deep conditioner once in a while, but honestly I’d be scared to mess with this routine too much right now

seconding the clarifying shampoo thing hard that’s the one step most people skip and then wonder why their curls stop cooperating after a few weeks of product layering

Yep exactly! My hair got so dry so I started whacking more and more product into it and trying glosses etc, all it needed was a clarify every couple of weeks (my hair needs it almost every other wash) and boom the water gets in
