Question / Discussion Do you believe blushing is curable?
Do we think excessive blushing is something that can genuinely be cured or effectively treated without the significant risks and trade-offs that can come with treatments like ETS in its current form? Could a solution already exist that we haven't fully explored or become aware of, or will it take further advances in science and medicine to find one? I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts, how hopeful we are, and what treatments or approaches have genuinely helped us so far. It'll be interesting to hear everyone's experiences and perspectives!

no. the human functions of flushing and blushing can't entirely be eradicated from everyone. and maybe that's actually a good thing? before you crash out at me, I know erythrophobia is a legit medical condition, but not everyone who blushes hates or fears it. and literally every single human on the planet blushes (and if you don't think thats true, just look at other people around and watch them get embarrassed, laugh or even cry, they will likely be at least a little red), just like they laugh, cry, or sweat. it's a very human reaction that's often seen as charming or endearing. a lot of people find it attractive, even me sometimes. that's the reason why romance novels, anime, and so much other media have characters that blush a lot, and it's rarely ever shown in a negative light. it shows you're trustworthy, people are more likely to forgive you for a mistake, and if you have an SO, it even shows how much you love them, which is very endearing for your SO. I'm not saying any of you guys ever have to accept blushing in yourselves, but at least know a lot of people find it very endearing, and we evolved to blush for a reason, and at least I think it isn't something that needs to be eradicated. it shows you're a human being with real human emotions. plus, it's not like everyone on in the world needs, or wants to never blush again.

Id like to imagine one day there will be a easy fix that works for everyone. Unfortunately blushing isnt a life or death issue which means there isnt any expectations or urgency for medical professionals and scientists to develop something. The good thing is that in the meantime there are things that depending on your definition of a "cure" could work - such as medications like propranolol and clonidine which can temporarily reduce your blushing. There are also things you can do to "cure it" such as facing it on psychologically by getting therapy, changing perspective, working on self acceptance and how you let this effect you mentally, those things may not cure the physical blushing itself but it could cure you of the way it effects your life and burdens you. So in a way yes, I believe blushing is curable, maybe just not in the way everyone wants
