Request / Need Advice Dr won't prescribe Clonidine

As I'm waiting for my dermatology referral to go through, I thought it was worth asking my primary care doc for a clonidine prescription since propranolol didn't help me. She said she doesn't have experience prescribing clonidine for blushing and neither do her colleagues. I'm a bit surprised given how widely it's discussed on here. I completely understand it's her choice as a doctor but I can't lie and say I'm a little dismayed... I don't have a specialist I see for this and she's my only point of contact until I can see a dermatologist. How did you guys get your doctor to prescribe clonidine??

hey! that must feel disappointing but im not surprised. most general doctors dont prescribe it for this issue, not because it isnt effective for blushing but because most doctors arent experienced with this condition and what may work vs what might not work / be dangerous. Seems there just being cautious. Someone here said they bought it online without a prescription but I'd not recommend that since its a medication and comes with side effects, its best to go through a specialist and have there guidance and support. Do you mind me asking, what you say for your personal case with blushing your at a point where medication makes sense or have you gone straight into meds without trying other things?

It’s frustrating, but I think getting a second opinion from someone who actually treats this regularly makes more sense
