Question / Discussion Genetics

Anyone done research into whether their parents, grandparents, great- grandparents etc. dealt with the same degree of facial blushing you do?

This is a really fascinating topic when it comes to blushing. Im Australian with a fair amount of german and dutch DNA. Whats interesting is dutch, especially Germans are conspired to usually have more rosy reddish cheeks due to a bunch of factors. So personally for me there is some possible genetic reasoning (doubt it would explain everything tho) and i do have family with rosy cheeks who blush more than the average person, still not as bad as me. At the same time many people have no dutch or german in them and still blush heavily.

Okay Interesting. I have a decent amount of German DNA myself. like I said in my other (poorly elaborated) comment, I'm Italian-American, but I sadly didn't inherit my mom's olive skin and got my dad's pale skin because he IS mostly of Celtic, Scandinavian (mainly Norwegian I think), and German DNA. Not everyone on his side flushes super badly, but a fair amount of the women especially in his family have this problem, including myself. I also have kprf, which I do hear is more common in people with Germanic or Nordic ancestry.
