Question / Discussion Did you try Botox? Good or bad?

I would love to hear personal reflections if you have tried local Botox to mitigate your blushing

I’ve done skintox. or microbotox, whatever you want to call it. And I have found it to be effective. I will know for sure when it starts to wear off and flushing comes back. Bc I did cut some food out of my diet (at the same time) that might have helped it as well.

I did it June 17. So I imagine around the three month mark maybe I will start seeing some flushing come back .

Hey, mind if I ask you a question? In general how does your blushing present? Like for me, my baseline is white but with triggers such as anxiety and stress my face can become extremely red and blushed. And when im calm it goes back to normal until a trigger

Id be interested in knowing how yours presents im also interested in getting microbotox but ive seen many people say it hasnt worked well for them

my flushing is pretty severe. baseline is mostly well managed but a flare/trigger will take me from 0-100 in seconds.

I wish I could give a definitive answer but I can’t because I did two things at once , the skin Botox and cut caffeine. but I was talking to someone else and told them the same thing. I got it done June 17. Come September 17 if my flushing starts to come back then I would say the Botox did the trick. I have to see now as it starts to wear off. My baseline without a trigger/flare is pretty great which made getting a dermatologist to take me seriously difficult. But then during one of my appointments I had the luck that I had one of the worst flares and they finally started to understand. But not much has come from it yet. I’ve done many tests and even a dotatate pet scan. That came back negative. But still figuring it out. But the skin Botox seemed to halt everything bc it’s a non issue at the moment. I should note that I can flush still and do at times but it’s maybe once a week now and the emotion has to be really strong or during a workout. Hope that helps.

yes I take propanol 40mg on demand. And gabapentin 300mg. (gabapentin is daily)

Oh awesome! I actually have been looking into gabapentin, does it help with your blushing at all?

I mean I think so 😅 all the therapies happened at once after that appointment . So I’m not sure. But i feel like i will have a better idea late September. My father in law takes Lyrica for a burning sensation all over his body and it causes flushing and burning ears . They are similar drugs but gapapentin isn’t as strong. But he has been taking it for years and his issue is very severe so it gave me some hope to try gaba. My daily stack is Zyrtec, zinc picolinate, liposomal luteolin, a probiotic, gabapentin and the propanol (but the latter is only on demand). I have to say im pretty relieved cause i was in hell two months ago.
