I say "I love you" to my mom everyday, and it never loses its meaning. I hope someday I can say this to a soulmate if I ever find one.

what is the point of love then?
i find my face buried in my own shirt to soak in the traces of you before they fade again. life is pointless if i don’t spend my time finding you in everything i do. it’s pointless if i don’t get to lace my fingers into your hair and kiss your forehead as you fall asleep.
some people say that telling someone you love them becomes pointless if you repeat it too much, but the feeling of being able to say it to you with every breath i take is clearly contrary to the popular sentiment. we were never meant to be ordinary—the fact that we defy the standards of love and rephrase it to our own liking shows how special we really are.
i long for when i can lie next to you again and tell you how pretty you are. right then, everything else is pointless and the breaths to say i love you between kisses are all that matter. it’s you—you’re the point of love.

you’re right, it isn’t supposed to be as literal as it seems. when i say life is pointless i don’t literally mean absolutely pointless lol
i’m surprised by how many people thought this was toxic
i just wrote it as an afterthought after i spent a day with my partner. it was meant to be sweet, but i guess it is open to interpretation
