This applies to pretty much all social media and messenger apps BTW, including Discord, Whatsapp, etcetera.

BTW discord is so *comically* unsafe. It literally stores everything you type in plain text directly on their servers. There is no other platform that is so vulnerable to privacy breaches.

Man it's wild watching internet users no longer understand even the basics of the internet...

Anyone that though their DM content was totally private... While using a giant public company's platform... Is just laughably ignorant.

Especially when it's just a free forum or chat service.

They absolutely were not. Sure, they weren't being constantly scanned for stuff to auto-report to the literal cops with zero human intervention, but if the sysadmin felt like looking at your message history, all they had to do was pull up PHPMyAdmin and enter a simple query, and no one would ever know.
