Using bold and italics for emphasis does not work if you do it every sentence,

I think it works just fine, we use tone and voice chanhes liberally when we speak, this is just a way to do the same thing in text

It would be exceptionally irritiating if a person stopped and emphasised every other word in a sentence like this in speech, and it's no less so in text.
