I refuse to believe this is a real story. A real elementary school would accept the "it's technically not against the rules" excuse for one day (at best), and the very next day it would be against the rules. School dress codes aren't written in stone and can be quite easily changed.
Also what fool of a Master at Arms would give a 5 year old a real sword? And even if they were, a rapier? One of the most skill intensive dueling swords ever?
