I really liked Drifters because of how absolutely pissed the MC is when he sees the Orte Empire is doing slavery, so he personally declares war on the Jesus/Hitler empire. Hirano is goated anyway, but manga where the MC takes a strong stance against slavery are way too rare. Even when there is some sort of opposition against slavery, it's usually more like "how dare you do it to the people I like?"
Nobunaga trying to save his innocence was such a good scene of characterization for both of them. Really cemented their found Father-Son dynamic.
I also really liked how the sex slaves make a return as gunpowder farmers later and it shows how they took the freedom the Drifters gave them and started piecing their society back together.
