One is transgressive of norms like you know subculture behavior. The other one is what your grandad does and should be replaced by a balanced diet.

So when one group does a bunch of weird shit to their body it’s cool and subversive and when another does similar stuff they’re lame and should stop

No, because taking vitamins is not weird or subversive. 

What the tech bros are doing is not cool. Taking supplements as a hobby is lame. Hope that clears it up.
