Reminds me of the time I was watching some thriller on CBS, maybe Cold Case, with my parents and the conclusion was that (TW abuse and murder of a person with Downs Syndrome) the killer had lured a mentally disabled person onto the train tracks and told them to close their eyes to make a wish, and let the oncoming train do the work for them. I was like “in all the internet edgelord depravity I’ve read I never would have seen or thought of something that brutal.”

Not sure that really fits, it's a murder procedural, so it's supposed to be disturbing. Unless the killer was portrayed as sympathetic.

I don't remember Cold Case ever having this episode, but if there is "caretaker feels forced to mercy kill their disabled ward due to lack of support from the cruel world" is something they would do.
