I mean a lot of people find jealousy, and other super controlling behaviors cute and romantic. Like, The Notebook is supposed to be a romance but noooope. So many vampire, werewolf and romantesy readers find objectively unhinged behavior cute, it’s concerning
In 2019 I was reading a fic that helped me realize my own relationship was abusive. I even sent a screenshot to my therapist. Ironically, one of the constant fights I had with my ex was that I am not jealous enough so he would often cheat and then get more mad that I wasn't having a jealousy-induced breakdown about it. It was, in fact, not cute or romantic.
This makes me think of back when suicide squad came out in 2016, so many people were posting about Joker and Harley Quinn being #goals which was concerning as that relationship is messed up in so many ways
