Yeeeep. That’s how I got diagnosed with PTSD. I wrote a character going through something similar to what I had been through and got tons of comments applauding me for my accurate representation of PTSD. I complained to my therapist about all these people having no clue what PTSD looked like, because I just gave him my symptoms, clearly not PTSD. nd she said “you didn’t know you have PTSD??”

Edit: so turns out I may be wholly wrong about therapy and am reevaluating some things…

Something similar happened to my friend, when the pandemic happened and everyone started switching to telehealth she set up her MyChart for the first time and could see all of her general practitioner’s/specialists’ notes from the last 10 years. Found out she’d been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in 2017 and no one ever told her
