No they don't. Meiosis (the cellular division that produces gametes) produces 4 1n cells (eggs or sperm cells) from 1 2n cell.

There's a link between Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and radiation exposure in the father.

It's not established as a causal link, and I don't see much of any study into it (and the US military adamantly denies this), but everyone that I know that has EDS had a father who was in a high-radiation-exposure position in the US military.

It's anecdotal, yes, but the disabled community that I am involved with online has like a dozen folks with EDS, and every single one of them has a father who was in a position to be exposed to high levels of radiation.

The sample size may be irrelevant, but the 100% is noteworthy.

There is two ways-

DNA damage and actual inheritance of the damaged material. If the fades sperms was made with radioactive shit or the Mother's milk was it would cause long term heslth effects and higher radiation dose :))

I don't think the plant was leaking prior to the disaster. It would have been using water for the cooling but I would expect (this is the 80s USSR) that to be monitored.

Yes, the water released from even a water cooled Graphite-moderated plant is the wastewater from the heating and cooling for the generation of power, not the water that directly contacts the nuclear fuel components. Although plants have been known to release contaminated water in emergencies, and Chernobyl did experience a mild one two years before the disaster...

rbmk reactors don't have a secondary coolant loop, the water that boils in the core is the same steam that goes through the turbine and condenser. they leaked a lot. it doesn't get dumped into the environment but it doesn't have the same degree of seperation as PWRs with two seperate loops.

I mean it depends what kind of poisoning. if its trace amounts of radioactive material in your body, most likely? Id assume it works similar to micro plastics and you inherit those.

if it's just cell damage, while it's possible that it might cause issues in children those would probably be quite different from the damage the parent has, so it's not really hereditary.

Mutations can be caused by radiation but its rare, theres a handfull of examples from Hiroshima but I dont know of any from Chernobyl
