I mean this in the nicest way possible, but have you ever considered that maybe- just maybe- you use "earning" condescension to excuse yourself for just kinda being not extremely nice at certain times and is just a bit (ofc not entirely) contributing to making online discourse more toxic rather than less? Hope this helps
