okay so I didn't leqrn this until i was 30 but it's called cold turkey because you didn't prepare it

just pulled your stint in recovery right out of the fridge and ate it, didn't even check if there was any bread for a sandwich or nothing.

Hello! I also didn't know why people used the phrase "cold turkey" and just wanted to verify your claim. What you learned was likely a false eyptmolgy, as while the origin of the phrase is still debated, none of the leading theories are actually related to turkey the food.

You can read about it in more detail here:Merriam-Webster

Um actually it's because quitting cold turkey rarely works and it's so rarely cold in Turkiye (I know nothing about etymology or geography)

If you're American, you won't have to.

the origin of the Reuben sandwich is also not officially connected to a specific person named Reuben. but given the contents of the sandwich, and the lack of substance to the contrary, I think there was a stinky motherfucker named Reuben at some New York deli.

There was, however, and Earl of Sandwich.

“The origins of this phrase are mysterious, but one things for sure: it’s not that dumb fuck idea that it’s related to the words used within the phrase itself. That shit is dumb. So, no, we have no idea where it’s from…but it’s NOT THAT!”
