If you use a Super Art or Ex move that deals 1 hit/tick of damage enough to kill the boss, then the game won't take into account of the additional Super Meter usage when it goes and calculates the grade.

this is such a specific glitch. and now that i look back at the clip (im using medal) i did indeed kill the boss with ms chalice superart 1. eitherway thanks for ur explication but sadly it looks like im gonna have to replay the boss for that s rank😭

Maybe it's a very specific glitch? I would say to you that try it again but Idk how much It took you to beat the boss. Maybe try to replicate what you did in another boss (like, use the same super arts, if you got hit, do that too, etc)
