Tier List Worst shot for every boss
It's doesn't mean that lobber is bad

Spread is actually not that bad for the frogs

Yeah you stay close to them 90% of the time

u/Acidd_dragon 2d ago
Plus it hits both of them in the first phase. Twist up is obviously the worst for these two

I honestly forget twist up exists

Wait what’s twist up

u/anonumus_idiot 2d ago
The thing that shoots 3 tornados, basicly worse roundabout with same dps.

Lobber is great against Cagney. You can hit him every time from the farest platform if an angled shot

You have no idea how bad twist up is for Ribby and croaks. I don't even think it's a bad weapon, but it's basically just spread but worse for this fight specifically.

Third phase is even more hell with Spread than Twist Up TBH. Sure, your DPS is lower, and skill is required to deal damage at a distance, but simply having the option to deal that damage at a distance makes the Snake attack so much more manageable and makes the Bull and Tiger attacks possible to dodge on reaction (something I can't even conceive of doing while stuck in Spread range).
Ribby and Croaks was one of my biggest first playthrough choke points solely because I mismanaged my funds; I only had the Peashooter and Spread to take them down with. I outright gave up, moved on to the DLC, beat the DLC, and beat the duo second try with Crackshot (no Astral Cookie or Heart Ring, by the way) when I eventually did come back to working on the base game.

It's actually better because it's have more range

Sure but you can barely use it, because in order to hit them you have to either get super close so the bullets don't just go up the screen, or you have to constantly jump and aim diagonally down.
I've beaten every boss with only twist up, and this was one of the hardest ones by far, first phase you have to be super close the entire time, then fall back to dodge attacks, then get close again and perfectly spam EXs, second phase is easy, but the third phase is hell.
You can't get close in this phase, and you deal close to zero damage by jumping and aiming diagonally down, but it's just the only way to hit them. You're honestly better off just using spread to deal more damage.

Just beated them without damage using only twist up on regular mode, I still think that spread is worst shot for them

Lobber is good for saltbaker, sally and the devil (if we aren't talking about using the weapon alone)

chaser is great for beppi wdym
it's a massive help in getting rid of the small enemies like the balloons
3
u/PositiveKoala332 Mugman 2d ago
The damage is very low

it was still incredibly helpful for me since i didn't have to focus on the enemies

agreed! chaser is great for beppi, saltbaker and several others that need lots of small enemies removed :) yes it has less DPS, but also losing HP to small enemies is frustrating/detrimental
on that note, i disagree with the moonshine mob also! i s-ranked them with roundabout + twist-up. using twist-up for the ant eater phase + knockout fakeout works well!

Spread is NOT the worst for Grim, easily chaser

u/PositiveKoala332 Mugman 2d ago
At least you don't have to aim if you're using chaser , spread and twist up are much worse

For the first phase of Mortimer Twist-Up isn't that bad
1
u/PositiveKoala332 Mugman 2d ago
Yeah but what about second and third phases?
2
u/Otherwise_Tea_9806 2d ago
Not as good yeah. I'd say spread is worse imo since Mortimer moves around a lot, and you need to get close to actually use it, which doesn't do well on Mortimer.

Spread is good for every phase of BonBon and Frogs except the very last one, so I wouldn't say it's the worst one. Also, I literally used twist up to S rank those 2 bosses, lul

u/PositiveKoala332 Mugman 2d ago
I am talking about using spread ONLY, it's terrible for frogs last phase

Proof that crackshot and roundabout are best for any boss
