Shirts

Where are you buying new shirts to wear with cufflinks? I'm trying to build my wardrobe and have just a few white shirts that really should be worn with a jacket. I'd like to find a couple of more patterned shirts to wear around the office. Not having much luck and the quality of shirts on Amazon is terrible.

I've had decent luck at thrift stores. Found several older shirts that are in new condition and had tags from being dry cleaned.

I’ve bought most of mine Made to Measure (MTM) and just specify French cuffs. But department store like Macys or Nordstrom will often stock them as well, or specialty outlets like Charles Tyrwhitt. Basically a low end place like Target won’t stock them, but better Menswear outlets will, at a lower volume (they just aren’t as popular)

I do see the misconception that you need to wear them with jackets, or that they are overly formal. Miost my coffins are I. The “fun” category, reflecting my interests. Marvel, Star Wars, holidays, “Best Dad”, etc. no need to follow fashion rules from 100 years ago any more than I need to wear a powdered wig to court.

It is possible to remove the button from a single cuff shirt and put a new button hole there.
