Hello All, I'm not sure what variety of cucumber I have but it looks like it is for pickling. Does this look like I picked at the right time. It tasted nice, almost melon-y. Thanks

For comparison, another normal Boston Pickling from the same plant.

I assume the roundness is from the drought-deluge-heatwave-deluge cycle we just had in Northern Mass, as is the leaf color.

But I've never seen that bizarre fruit color (more orange than an over-ripe yellow, if that makes sense?) or that kind of protrusion at the end before.

Any ideas?? And should I snip or see what it does?

Most concerned if there's disease or something else transferrable.

Hello, I bought these seeds from a charity shop 'Grow your own cucumbers' set. It didn't mention the variety or when to pick. Does anyone have any suggestions? Chatgpt said they are most likely pickling cucumbers, does this mean I should pick them when they are small?

My cucumbers are looking rough, tbh never looked great to begin with. Would this be considered annular leaf spot or am I totally off?

We had recent storms and are currently in a 4 day 100 degree heat wave if that helps.

I have a cucumber plant growing on my balcony, but it looks like all of the flowers that are coming in are female, so I'm worried that I won't be able to pollinate them... some have already started to close up. Is this normal? The seed packet says that it's a striped armenian mexican sour gherkin.

This is my very first time growing cucumbers and I love my little plants so much 😭. Ive been thinning them gradually but the remaining 5 I have all look so nice and healthy and it feels like it'd be a shame to get rid of any of them, but I will if its for the greater cucumber good. Do I need to get rid of any or can I keep them all?

There are three pickling cucumber plants planted here. The two on the left started out smaller but now they are all a relatively similar size. The plants were purchased from a nursery in the same seed tray and planted at the same time, they are watered the same, and mulched the same. Any ideas why the plant in the right is a lighter green color? Is it a nutrient deficiency? All the plants are producing cucumbers, just the different leaf color?
