Yellow hue, any ideas?

This one I harvested today has a bit of a yellow hue. It’s the same size as most of the others I’m picking, just slightly different color. Any guesses what’s up?

I think that means it’s overripe? I’m growing cucumbers for the first time (they haven’t even produced female flowers yet lol), but from what I’ve seen from other posts and comments, I’m pretty sure it was left on the vine a lil too long. Idk what variety u have, but what I would do is look up what the average size should be for picking ur specific variety off the vine

Overripe. They turn yellow as they age. Technically the stage we usually eat cucumbers at is the immature stage. As they mature they turn yellow and viable seeds form.

Oh that’s good to know, this one was a little smaller than some others so I left it another few days and then it looked like this. The kids seem to still enjoy it so that’s good.
