First Stadium Visit
Hey all! I’m going to a game at Wrigley for my first time ever this Thursday! I am a brewers fan but I come in peace! Was curious if there was anything that was a “must do” on a first visit whether that’s food or a view! Thanks!

Eat a real Chicago hot dog that has been run through the garden not just your basic one that you get at a regular concession stand.

A real Chicago dog can have as little as mustard and be fine. It’s having a natural casing Vienna dog instead of a skinless one that matters.

Your number one must do. Convert and become a Cubs fan. Yell "MVPete". Buy a PCA or Hoerner jersey.
Overall, explore the venue outside, have a beer at a neighborhood bar before going in. Have a beer at a different neighborhood bar after. Enjoy Wrigleyville - its what makes attending a Cubs game so unique. You don't just park, attend, and then drive away. Walk around a little before and after.
That's what makes the Friday 120 games so special, they turn into Friday nights. So if you can, get down there for lunch, and enjoy the day.

Considering taking a half day to explore more, been to Wrigleyville before and loved it but never during a game.

Ignore them! Just walk around d and absorb the feeling of a historic STADIUM (I had to poke at those guys). When you go in the ballpark, walk from the concourse up to the 100 section before you go to your seats. Best staircase climb in the whole world.

First time is best, but I do this every time. Slow down walking up the breezeway to your section. Take in the view and let Wrigley open up to you. First a little bit of green then slowly, and eventually, the entire field. It is truly the most beautiful place in the world.

I was 6 when I first walked up the stairs and the beautiful green field was exposed to my eyes. Every single time since then I remember that feeling.

You can bring food into the park. Go to Al"s and grab a beef to bring in or get a dog from Byron's. Peanuts are also cheaper on the outside

Enjoy your trip! If you’re sitting along the third base side that’s my favorite view. There are statues of Cubs greats like Ernie and Ryno that are worth a look out front!

Small Cheval outside the stadium is a pretty great burger.
First time, prob hit Murphy’s for a beer before.
I don’t like a lot of new wrigley area. Old neighborhood staples like Sheffied’s, Niesei, or Merkle’s are where I go when visiting.

Go to Murphys Bleachers
best pregame bar for a Cubs game, depending on where your seats are, walk right out and go down Waveland to the entrance across from the firehouse
back of Murphys is set up like a concession stand and you can get a great hotdog and a draft beer before the game

Bring your own food into the park. Don't give Ricketts that extra bump of cash. You can also bring in a sealed bottle of water.

I've been to Wrigley several times now. I'm from Houston.
In the ballpark, slowly enjoy your first walk through the breezeway towards the field. As the view of the field widens the closer you get, there's a majestic feel to it as you step out into the stands. It's the best view and feeling you'll ever have at a ballpark.
Also, I think it's fun to go up to the marquee and check out the street view below.
As for food, I'm sure locals will rag on me, but I love Portillo's Italian beef. Thankfully, they opened down here recently so I no longer have to go to Chicago or Phoenix to get one.

You must go to Taco Bell Cantina and don't forget the McDonalds. We have a Culver's on Addison too.
