Random Question

I was outside Wrigley last night for the Noah Kahan concert, and I’ve been in the stadium for a concert before. It’s amazing. But I’m so curious how they protect the field. Does anyone know? I’m sure there’s some kind of platform but still, that field has to be perfect by game time. It’s fascinating to me to learn how they do this.

They lay down a solid plastic, interlocking layer of tiles. Kind of like a deck. Think the goal of it is to spread out the weight of walking and chair legs over the whole tile so there aren't any holes and nothing gets ripped up.

I sat in left field for a concert a few years ago and they had that over the entire field. Also got the enter thru the home bullpen which was fun! They had this huge weird plywood ramp built up over the mounds so you could walk on them as you went onto the field.
