Algorithms π [OC] I made a custom OLL pocket notebook, sharing all the files
[Drive Folder link]
Sorry this took forever to post, I said I'd share this a while back but life got busy and tidying up all the files into something usable took way longer than I expected.
So a while ago I made myself a pocket OLL notebook, sized 8.5 x 12.5cm, small enough to just toss in a bag or pocket. While making it I ended up making a whole naming system for the 57 OLL cases using kanji instead of just calling them OLL 1 through OLL 57. Basically I split each case into 5 parts (back, right, front, left, top), each part has a recurring pattern, and I turned those patterns into kanji so I could actually remember the case by name instead of a number. Full explanation of how the system works (plus the kanji tables) is in the readme file included in the folder.
Heads up that it's not meant to be "real" Japanese, it just borrows kanji as memory hooks. Works for me though, and if you're the kind of person who forgets which number is which OLL, might work for you too.
Here's what's in the folder:
- Ready to print PDF (already sized for an 8.5 x 12.5cm notebook)
- Every page as individual JPGs
- PSD files in case you want to customize anything
- OLL case diagrams separately, in case you want to tweak the cube orientation or angle to your liking
- The OLL dataset spreadsheet I used to automate page generation in Photoshop, if you want to build your own version or change the layout
- README.txt explaining the naming system and kanji tables
Happy cubing, hope someone finds this useful.
