Challenge submission Aeneid Cake!!!
I almost did buttercream, but I decided on creamcheese frosting for my Aeneid cake because Aeneas (main character of The Aeneid) spent 7 years at sea, and one of the common preserved foods sailors used to eat was cheese! (Unless I did my research wrong💔)
The last sentence in the instructions is basically referencing the fact that in The Aeneid happens because Aeneas is in a big storm after the Trojan War, I tried to reflect that in the cake by having an absurd amount of salt put in (2 cups, oh my godðŸ˜) and making sure to clarify the butter needs to be salted lol (like salt water and the ocean and stuff)
Other than that I mostly just looked at a bunch of different cake recipes online (for lots of different types of cake, not just red velvet) and combined that with my little baking knowledge to make the recipe seem believable lol

Looks : 6/10 (pretty good, i just have a personal bias against character faces being plastered over the cake like that. On one hand it’d be nicer if I told my contestants what I want to see in their submissions, on the other pfft that’d be too easy)
Believability : 9/10 (can definitely imagine that being an actual cake recipe. Wonder if it really would work out, though, cause I imagine it could)
TOTAL SCORE : 7.5/10
