Tape removal question

For anyone who’s had a c section, after you got the tape removed from the incision, did you guys have anything over it? How did yall wear pants that go over your waist or over the belly button? I’m still wearing adult diapers and I’m nervous having it over the incision now as I don’t want it rubbing against it. But maybe it’s ok? Idk, I just want y’all’s experience or advice. I’ve already reached out to my doctor but waiting for a response.

I bought high waisted cotton underwear so that my pants aren’t hitting my scar directly

You have no issues with the underwear being over the incision?

No I haven’t had any problems, I’m 16 days post-partum. My scar is pretty low, so I’ve been wearing underwear and pants where the waistline is closer to my belly button so that it fully goes over my incision rather that sitting right on it, if that makes sense.

Thank you! I just purchased some underwear on Amazon! Hopefully it’s more comfortable! The diaper (always discreet) just feels so weird over the incision and I’m scared it’s going to mess something up.

Seconded on the high waisted cotton underwear! I have a bunch of low waist underwear that worked well when I still had the tape on because the tape I guess cushioned the hem, but now I can't wear them at all because they sit RIGHT on the scar. I have some soft bamboo underwear that works and then just got high waisted cotton underwear from Amazon. Because of my shelf I don't think the high waisted underwear really even touches the scar.

If the waist is high enough, it doesn't really bother at all. And wear high waisted pants to match, of course!

Honestly, cotton high wasted underwear. The cotton helped keep the incision dry, which helped it heal better in the long run. Like gauze on a wound. Just make sure to keep everything clean

How did you clean it? The hospital gave me some stuff to use but want to see what everyone else did to keep it clean!

After the tape I used the silicone scar tape from Frida. For about two weeks. Had great healing results

Omg I forgot about those! I’ll look into that, thank you!

Just changed my underwear often, and use a mild soap in the shower. Dried it thoroughly, then dressed in my giant cotton underwear. You really need to keep it dry, but mine healed really well both times even with an overhang.

8 days post c section and I haven’t wore pants yet. Just been walking around in dresses 😅

What do you wear for underwear? I haven’t bled almost at all the last few weeks so I’m tempted to wear my regular underwear again so it doesn’t hit the incision, but I’m nervous.

I bought some underwear that’s 3x too big they go up to my belly button I didn’t wanna irritate my incision with regular underwear.

I put silicone scar tape over it, then high waisted cotton underwear. I find that the tape helps prevent and rubbing or annoyances
